Offsetting of tax claims prior the return of personal income tax

Today, the Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia (FURS) announced it shall, on 9. 5. 2019, offset claims against taxable persons who have a debt towards FURS and who are also entitled to a refund of personal income tax on the basis of the indicative calculation of personal income tax for 2018.The offset of claims shall be made before the refund of personal income tax and for all outstanding tax liabilities due on 7. 5. 2019. Taxable persons shall receive a notification of the offsetting if the amount offset exceeded EUR 10.Taking the above into account, we advise all taxable persons to pay their outstanding tax liabilities prior 7. 5. 2019 and thus avoid the possibility of double payment of tax liabilities.
